Technology

Metal spinning is a modern forming technology production process for the manufacture of rotationally symmetrical hollow bodies of almost any surface contours in small and medium batches. In metal spinning production, a circular sheet metal blank, known as the round blank, is clamped in front of a spinning chuck. The spinning chuck represents an inner mould of the geometry of the component.
The spinning chuck and the round blank are then set in rotation by the main spindle drive of the spinning lathe. The transformation of the round blank into a component takes place in several stages through the use of a spinning tool, which moves step by step from the centre of the blank to the edge and back again.
